The best attribute about The Blade Itself is that it does a great job introducing the characters of the series, and setting up the arcs and the dark yet humorous tone that Abercrombie pulls off so well. I was surprised to find out that this was Abercrombie's debut novel, it really holds up for an author's first work. If anyone has them in a different order I'd love to hear about it in the comments. So I've just finished the series and thought I might wright up a series ranking as it firmly stands as my favourite set of fantasy novels of all time.
